U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center, Information Technology Laboratory

ICRC provides a broad range of information technology services for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Information Technology Laboratory (ITL). ITL is part of the Corps’ Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), which conducts engineering investigations and research studies in support of civil and military projects for the Corps and other federal agencies.

ICRC’s services for ITL fall primarily within the following four areas:

  • Global IT support for the Corps of Engineers Enterprise Infrastructure Services (CEEIS). CEEIS provides the Corps’ principal IT infrastructure, which services approximately 70,000 users. ICRC’s work for CEEIS includes global network management, program management, network security, intrusion detection, system administration, database administration, e-mail support and help desk support, among others.
  • Photography and videography support for the ITL Infostructure and Knowledge Management Division, Multimedia Presentation Branch. Through photography and videography, ICRC documents ERDC research projects, as well as other Corps initiatives.
  • Web development, field research and administrative support for the ERDC Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory and Field Research Facility.
  • Special projects for the U.S. Department of Defense High Performance Computing Major Shared Resource Center.

ICRC also provides administrative and LAN/Desktop support for additional ERDC organizations utilizing the ITL contract vehicle, including the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory, the Environmental Laboratory and the Security Office, among others.

Social Security Administration, Office of Telecommunications and System Operations

ICRC holds a national contract to provide assistive technologies support for the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) Office of Telecommunications and Systems Operations (OTSO). OTSO directs and manages the planning, acquisition, implementation, security, operation and maintenance of SSA's computer systems.

ICRC’s services for OTSO fall primarily within the following three areas:

  • Management and staffing of SSA’s Assistive Technologies Help Desk (ATHD). ICRC help desk personnel provide support for assistive technology (AT) hardware and software used by SSA’s employees with disabilities. The ATHD works with both end users and on-site technical support personnel to resolve AT issues. Technologies supported by ICRC include:
    • Braille displays and printers
    • Specialty keyboards
    • Video camera systems
    • Software to vocally control computers
    • Computer screen magnification software
    • Software to read computer screens aloud.
  • Assistive technologies engineering support through SSA’s Engineering Support Center (ESC). ICRC’s ESC staff provides analysis to assist the SSA in purchasing new AT equipment. ESC personnel:
    • Test AT hardware and software
    • Write deployment instructions for new technologies
    • Provide deployment assistance to on-site technicians
    • Prepare scripts for technology deployment on end user systems
    • Serve as the first escalation point for the ATHD.
  • Overall project management in support of SSA’s AT programs and services. ICRC works closely with the SSA, contractors and vendors to ensure the efficient delivery, deployment and support of AT hardware and software.
