Successful Testing of ICRC’s Custom Designed All Terrain Vehicle Completed for the U.S. Special Operations Command

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI – January 30, 2006 – Integrated Concepts & Research Corporation (ICRC), a diversified technical and management services company, announced today the successful field testing of its custom-designed Land and Sea Special Operations (LASSO™) diesel All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) built for the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The LASSO ATV will ultimately be used by the U.S. military in remote operational environments, such as Iraq and Afghanistan.

ICRC engineers designed the LASSO ATV to meet specific military requirements, including the ability to handle rough, off-road terrain, and to run on JP8 fuel (the military-approved fuel used to power most military aircraft, vehicles and equipment). The commercial ATVs currently used by the military run on either traditional diesel fuel or unleaded gasoline, and are not able to withstand the difficult off-road conditions prevalent in many operational environments.

The ICRC LASSO ATV has a unique chassis configuration that allows it to transform from a 6x6 logistical vehicle to a shorter 4x4 tactical vehicle with the quick removal of the rear wheel module. Its versatility will allow the military to use it for multiple purposes, such as patrolling; the transport of personnel and casualties; and the transport of light cargo up to 1,500 pounds.

“The U.S. military knew it needed a robust ATV that would be rugged and durable, but flexible and reliable enough to perform in hostile environments,” said Kevin Mulrenin, vice president of ICRC’s Advanced Vehicle Technologies division. “We specifically built this ATV to perform under extreme conditions. Based on our recent testing, we believe this vehicle’s performance will exceed the military’s requirements.”

ICRC is currently finalizing the LASSO ATV design and expects to deliver two versions of the vehicle (one 6x6 and one 4x4) to USSOCOM by the end of March. USSOCOM will then conduct its own tests of the vehicle.
