ICRC Demonstrates Ultra-Clean Diesel Fuel in Transit Bus as Part of Landmark Demonstration

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI - September 21, 2006 - Integrated Concepts & Research Corporation (ICRC), a diversified technical and management services company, announced today it successfully demonstrated ultra-clean Fischer-Tropsch (FT) diesel fuel in a transit bus as part of a landmark fuel demonstration held September 19 at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

The Edwards event featured a test flight of a B-52 military aircraft using ultra-clean FT jet fuel. The demonstration was the first time FT jet fuel had been tested in a B-52. To showcase the wide range of applications for FT fuel, ICRC coordinated the supporting demonstration of FT diesel fuel in a transit bus used to transport event guests.
The B-52 flight demonstration is one of the more visible steps in the U.S. Department of Defense's Assured Fuel Initiative, an effort to develop secure domestic fuel resources for the U.S. military. As a follow-up to the September 19 transit bus demonstration, ICRC and the Air Force Advanced Power Technology Office are planning a longer-term demonstration of 10,000 gallons of FT diesel fuel in a transit bus at Edwards. The longer-term demonstration will be conducted as part of ICRC's transit bus demonstration cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration.

Mike Mead, chief of the Air Force Advanced Power Technology Office, commented, "Development of this technology will advance the Air Force's goals to provide increased capabilities to the warfighter, support our environmental and energy policy requirements and reduce the dependency on foreign energy sources."

The diesel fuel and jet fuel demonstrated at the Edwards event were produced by ICRC partner Syntroleum. Syntroleum has produced more than 400,000 gallons of ultra-clean fuel at its facility near Tulsa, Oklahoma. Although this fuel has primarily been produced using synthesis gas and natural gas feedstock, its successful demonstration indicates that ultra-clean fuel could be produced in the future from the vast resources of coal available in the United States, as well as from stranded or remote natural gas.

"We were thrilled to take part in yesterday's milestone event," said Kevin Mulrenin, vice president of ICRC's Advanced Vehicle Technologies division. "This demonstration has shown that ultra-clean fuel has great potential as an energy source for both military ground vehicles and aircraft. It is clear that with each step we are making critical progress in establishing domestic FT fuel products as a viable alternative to conventional fuel."
